About Aishwarya

Aishwarya's passion for music and dance as a young child was transformed as she commenced her dance training in the ancient South Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam at the age of 7. Over the last 11 years under the tutelage of her Guru Smt. Indrani Parthasarathy, she has blossomed into the mature dancer she is today. When asked, Aishwarya terms dance as her de-stressor that keeps her going when the going gets tough! Over the years, Aishwarya has performed in numerous dance productions of the Abhinaya School and various other Houston events including the International Festival, Woodlands TEDx, Tamil Nadu Foundation Convention and also at various Houston Hindu Temples. She was awarded the 1st prize for her dance performance at the Second Annual Music and dance competitions on Papanasam Sivam Songs.

Aishwarya is passionate in everything she undertakes. She has excelled in not only academics, but also in sports and debate. At a very young age, Aishwarya is involved in social causes and has been recognized by several NGO's. She has been accepted to the Engineering Program at Penn State University and will start classes in August 2015. She was awarded the Girl Scouts Gold Award, the Presidents (USA) Bronze Volunteer Award and SEWA International Volunteer Award for her New Horizons-Computer Literacy Program that she started out for the Bhutanese Refugees in Houston. Aishwarya has held various positions at her school including Treasurer and Lincoln Douglas Chair of her Debate Team as well as Co-Captaion of the Volleyball team and Manager of the Girls' Soccer team.
